One of my favorite things about newborn shoots is designing sets. I love neutral. natural. chippy. rustic. vintage. Sweet baby girl Amelia let me take advantage of her snoozy morning to beautifully prop and pose her in some of my favorite props.

chippy cream wood bucket…
BEANBAG!I give my clients the best of both worlds. They not only get a taste of some amazing print products I feature but ALSO the digital artwork as well. I love the feeling of watching my photos come to life starting at the time of the session! When putting together sets I know clients want to see a subtle variety of texture, color, and poses to change from set to set but still coordinate with each other.
The finished products make my heart skip beats and would make gorgeous wall art hung in her nursery as a collage above the crib or changing table. Soft blush, cream, and wood tones accented Amelia’s adorable fuzzy fine hair, chubby cheeks, and sweet innocence creating a stunning portfolio for mom and dad to cherish forever.
Carter turns 1!
Not sure where the time goes, but it always seems to show us up! This little bear cub Carter came for newborn photos last year and now he’s back for the BIG 1!
From oh so sleepy to a bright eyed playful little buddy, Carter keeps mom and dad on their toes! Thanks for giggles, grins, & good conversation!!
NEWBORN KIPTON & FAM
This beautiful momma contacted me for maternity photos and we got them done just in the knick of time before baby boy KIPTON made his own little early arrival. Mom, Dad, & myself enjoyed a morning discussing his birth story (these are my favorite!) and all the new changes in their lives while posing, feeding, changing, and shooting their bundle of joy. Did I mention multi-tasking?! Thank you SO much for sharing good conversation and your new love with me!
Bennett 6 mo & Family
Any of you photographers out there struggling with reschedule after reschedule due to rain?? I have had a maternity momma who’ve I’ve been rebooking for 3 Wednesdays in a row. Now we are onto mother natures game and steer clear of all the days of the week that start with W…so we’ll see what next week brings! Getting back to business, Bennett is 6 MONTHS. Seriously, I don’t even know where time goes! About 75% of my newborns I photograph invest in the Grow with Me package because not only is it a great deal but it gives baby an opportunity to visit the studio for 3 sessions of your choice. The most common sessions are for milestones newborn, 6 mo. & 1 year! It seems like we were just doing this little dudes newborn photos and boy oh boy does the session pace change from one to the next.
At newborn sessions mom and dad are whispering and tiptoeing around the studio for 3 hours…and by six months it’s crazy airplane rides in the sky, tickling, jumping, peek-a-boo, singing, & etc, anything to catch their attention and entertain while they sit in one spot for the 30 minutes they allow us…and then there’s the 1 year. We don’t even worry about the noises because we just spend our time on the RUN.
After I get done shooting milestone sessions I always find myself driving back home reminiscing about what life with my Braxton was like at that age. That’s one of the greatest perks of my job, I get the privelage to give these family’s memories of the time and place that their own kids are at to cherish forever. When I was editing this photo below my heart was blowing up, the way he looks up to mom with such amazement like she is the best person in the world. Little moments like this makes all the late night feedings, trips to the Dr’s office from ear infection for the 3rd time in a month, and 10,000 dirty diapers later worth every.single.second! Bennett loves splashing and kicking in the tub, chattering to anyone who gives him attention (don’t blame ya kid, I love that too!), rolling, and baby food. Noted: He will eat but has to feed himself. SUCH an in·de·pend·ent big boy!
Thanks Kleindl Fam!
NEWBORN CROSBY
An active hockey loving family from Fargo, North Dakota visited the studio for newborn photos. 2 older sisters + 1 baby brother makes their family complete, meet baby Crosby! He is definitely a well loved little peanut with fuzzy hair, soft complexion, and kissable cheeks..we all know darn well living in the house with 3 girls is no task for the wimpy, but I think you & dad are definitely ready to man handle the task.
…to go to sleep I count goals not sheep.
Check out those skates! Mom said they were a baby gift that someone made for him. Sayyyy wwwhhhhatttt?? How cute & what an amazing keepsake these will be!
Big blue eyed boy Jackson
Jackson, a little blue eyed buddy came for his 1 year session with mom.
Things started out pretty serious here. He really wasn’t so sure about me…I don’t blame him! Mom and I were standing on our head, jumping up and down, and sweating but then we got these big
GRINS!!!! UHHH he is just adorable! From his tiny little toes to his big BLUE eyes,he is a total heart breaker! Then it was time for his happy birthday shots which started out not so happy…
But after a moment of investigation and a few handfuls of frosting later he was shoveling cake in and couldn’t help but give us these big blue cakey smiles!
Happy 1st birthday Jackson!
